Welcome to Littlehampton Preschool!

At Littlehampton Preschool, we believe in creating a joyful and nurturing space where children can explore, learn, and grow. Formerly known as the Child Parent Centre, our preschool is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which emphasizes inquiry-based learning. This approach values each child's right to play and recognizes them as unique, capable individuals who can guide their own learning journey.

Our Mission

We aim to develop creative and confident students who are ready to adapt to a rapidly changing world. We cherish personal excellence and foster a love of learning, while building strong relationships among students, staff, parents, and the wider community.

Preschool Program

• Full-time preschool begins the term after your child's fourth birthday.
• We offer 15 hours of preschool each week for just $100 per term.
• Children are divided into Group A and Group B for full-day sessions:
  • Group A: Monday and Tuesday from 8:45 AM to 3:00 PM, and every second Friday from 8:45 AM to 1:45 PM.
  • Group B: Wednesday and Thursday from 8:45 AM to 3:00 PM, and every second Friday from 8:45 AM to 1:45 PM.

Transition to School

Before starting school, children are invited to participate in four orientation visits with their Junior Primary class. This helps both students and parents feel comfortable and familiar with the school environment. We also hold a meeting for new parents with our Principal, Jenny Lewis, where you can learn about the learning program and ask any questions you may have.

In the first two weeks of school, we offer a parent information session where you can meet the teacher and hear all about the class program. Our preschoolers also get to join in on school activities, such as assemblies and special event days, and they regularly visit the library.

Learning Framework

Our preschool is play-based and guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, focusing on five key learning outcomes:

• Children have a strong sense of identity.
• Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
• Children have a strong sense of well-being.
• Children are confident and involved learners.
• Children are effective communicators.

Playgroup

We also host a playgroup every Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the OSHC building, run by parents. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to socialize and play together.
