Welcome to Ballyhall Community Kindergarten!

At Ballyhall Kindergarten and Kilkenny Steiner School, we believe in a special way of learning that nurtures every child. Our approach is inspired by the Steiner-Waldorf education, which focuses on a holistic and nature-based experience. Here, children are encouraged to explore, play, and connect with the world around them.

At Ballyhall, we understand that learning is not just about reading and writing. We focus on developing the whole child—their thinking, feeling, and doing. We believe that children should not be pushed into literacy or numeracy before the age of seven. Instead, we encourage them to:

Our Location and Age Groups

Located in the beautiful city of Kilkenny, Ireland, we offer kindergarten education for children aged 2 to 5 at Ballyhall. For those a bit older, we provide primary education for ages 5 to 12 at Ballytobin.

As a registered charity, we value the involvement of parents and the community. We offer many opportunities for parents to get involved and volunteer, including through the European Solidarity Corps. Together, we can create a vibrant and enriching environment for our children to thrive!
