At Seedling Nature School, we believe in the magic of creativity and the joy of learning through play! Our mission is to help children explore their imaginations with fun and educational activities that spark their curiosity.

Nature Play and Outdoor Learning

We are passionate about nature play and outdoor learning. That’s why we proudly offer weekly Forest School Sessions for all age groups. Here, children can immerse themselves in the beauty of nature while learning valuable skills.

Our Dedicated Team

We take great pride in our highly qualified and dedicated team of Preschool and Afterschool teachers. Each educator is carefully selected through a thorough recruitment process, including garda vetting and reference checks. Our team brings a wealth of experience, with skills ranging from cooking, baking, and art to farming, gardening, and forest school skills like tool work, fire making, and basket weaving.

To ensure our staff continues to grow, we support their professional development through training with esteemed organizations such as Hibernia, Mary Immaculate College, Circle of Life Rediscovery, Tusla, and the Forest School Association. Our courses vary from one-day personal skills workshops to two-year university qualifications.

Inclusive Learning Environment

At Seedling, we cater to children at all stages of learning. We warmly welcome families from our local community, embracing children of different abilities and backgrounds. Many of our members come from the Limerick Educate Together School. As one of our teachers beautifully said, “It’s not only the plants that blossom at Forest School! I have seen pupils of all abilities and with varying levels of need thrive in this outdoor wonderland. Messy play, construction, exploring, and climbing are the order of the day, and pupils are encouraged to ‘figure it out’ themselves, wherever possible. Time and again, I’ve seen pupils who can be hesitant in the regular classroom rise to the challenge in the forest, and it is a joy to watch their confidence grow. Wish they had Forest School when I was growing up.”

Our families come from nearby neighborhoods, creating a close-knit environment and strong partnerships with parents. Whether you’re close to home or near the office, our center is perfect for busy working families, making pick-up and drop-off easy and convenient.

Building strong relationships with our families is very important to us. We invite you to join us for family visits and seasonal events, stay for a chat at pick-up time, and learn about your child’s progress during parent-teacher meetings. Our parents have shared invaluable skills, from building and garden maintenance to photography and music. If you have a skill you’d like to share, we would love to hear from you!
