Welcome to Thomastown Community Kindergarten!

At Thomastown Community Kindergarten, we believe that every child deserves a joyful and nurturing start to their educational journey. As a charity-based organization, we are dedicated to providing quality and affordable early childhood care and education for our little ones.

Our Approach

We cater to children aged 2.5 years until they are ready to transition to primary school at 5 or 6 years of age. Our kindergarten operates as a part-time/session service, following the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016.

Learning Through Play

Our educational philosophy is inspired by the Steiner Waldorf approach, which emphasizes a relaxed and unhurried environment. Here, we prioritize imaginative play over traditional academic teaching, allowing children to explore and learn at their own pace.

A Curriculum Full of Fun

We develop our curriculum using the Aistear and Síolta frameworks, with a strong focus on outdoor play. We believe that nature is the best classroom, and our children enjoy plenty of time outside, discovering the world around them.

Daily Sessions

Thomastown Community Kindergarten operates two sessions each day: a morning session and an afternoon session. Please note that we do not offer full-day care, allowing families to choose the best fit for their schedules.

A Multicultural Experience

We are proud to participate in the European Volunteer Service, welcoming volunteers from various backgrounds to enrich our multicultural environment. This not only enhances our community but also provides our children with a broader perspective of the world.
