Escola no Chiado: A Caring Preschool and Daycare

Escola no Chiado is a welcoming preschool and daycare located in Lisbon, dedicated to children aged 3 to 5 years. The school focuses on social inclusion, ensuring that all families and children can access its services, regardless of their financial situation. To support this mission, Escola no Chiado offers scholarships and material assistance in areas such as food, employment, and clothing.

Our Educational Approach

The school believes in the importance of adult interaction for children's emotional and social growth. Children are organized into heterogeneous groups to meet educational goals appropriate for their age. Daily activities encourage children to explore three key questions:

1. Who am I? - Fostering a sense of being loved and valued.
2. Who are the other children? - Highlighting the importance of friendship and social interaction.
3. Who are the adults? - Building trust and secure relationships with adults to enhance learning.

Community Support and Donations

Escola no Chiado is currently in need of educational materials, toys, books, and equipment. Donations are welcomed to help purchase these items and provide scholarships and support to families in need. Contributions can be made via MB WAY or through bank transfers using the provided IBAN.

Our History

Founded in 2014, Escola no Chiado is a collaborative project between Centro Social Paroquial Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, Escola Paroquial dos Mártires, and Fundação Maria Ulrich. With over forty years of experience in education and family support, the school aims to create a joyful learning environment that supports children from infant care to the 4th year of schooling.
