Welcome to Hattie Cotton Elementary School!

Nestled in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, Hattie Cotton STEM Magnet Elementary School is a vibrant public school that sparks curiosity and creativity in young minds. Our school is all about STEM—that’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math! We focus on the Engineering Design Process, encouraging our students to think like engineers and solve real-world problems.

At Hattie Cotton, we believe that learning should be an adventure! Our classrooms are filled with energy as students dive into their lessons, ask questions, and explore new ideas. We create a student-driven learning environment where every child is an active participant in their education.

A Day at Hattie Cotton

The school day begins bright and early at 7:45 a.m. and wraps up at 3 p.m. Each day, students engage in core classes that include:

• English Language Arts
• Math
• Science
• Social Studies
• Colt's Hour

But that’s not all! Throughout the week, students also enjoy special classes in STEM, visit the library, and participate in guidance sessions. To keep things exciting, we rotate our Related Arts classes, which include Art, Music, and Physical Education, every day!
