Nestled in the heart of Portland, Oregon, Little Root Playgarden Preschool is a magical place where children ages 3 to 6 can explore, learn, and grow in a nature-inspired, play-based environment.

At Little Root, we believe that the great outdoors is the best classroom! Our dedicated outdoor play garden invites little ones to discover the wonders of nature every day. We also take weekly hikes into the beautiful Baltimore Woods, where children can connect with the environment and enjoy the fresh air.

Learning Through Play

Our curriculum is inspired by LifeWays, focusing on the use of natural materials and hands-on activities. Children engage in delightful experiences such as:

• Gardening: Planting seeds and watching them grow!
• Crafting: Creating beautiful art with their own hands.
• Cooking: Helping to prepare delicious snacks and meals.

A Close-Knit Community

With a low teacher-to-child ratio of 1:5, we ensure that each child receives plenty of attention and care. This allows us to foster a warm and nurturing community where every child feels valued and loved.
