Nestled in the heart of The Nations, Nashville, Cockrill Elementary School is more than just a school; it’s a vibrant community where children thrive! We pride ourselves on being an enhanced option school that offers a unique learning environment for our diverse group of students.

• Breakfast in the Classroom: We believe that a good day starts with a good breakfast! That’s why we serve breakfast right in the classroom, ensuring our students are fueled and ready to learn.
• Before and Aftercare: We know that parents have busy schedules, so we offer on-site before and aftercare. Our Project for Neighborhood Aftercare (PNA) program runs from 6:30 am to 7:30 am and 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm, providing a safe and fun environment for kids even outside school hours.
• Engaging Learning: Our approach to education includes project-based learning and blended learning opportunities. This means students get to explore, create, and learn in ways that excite them!
• State-of-the-Art Technology: We equip our classrooms with the latest technology, giving students the tools they need to succeed in today’s world.

Support for Families

At Cockrill Elementary, we understand that education is a partnership. That’s why we have a Family Resource Center and collaborate with the PENCIL Foundation to provide additional support services for our families.

A Day at Cockrill

Our school day runs from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Here’s a glimpse of what a typical day looks like:

• Personalized Learning Time (PLT): 45 minutes of tailored learning just for your child.
• Reading: 90 minutes dedicated to diving into the world of books.
• Math: 60 minutes of fun with numbers and problem-solving.
• Related Arts: 60 minutes of creativity through art, music, and more!
